My son Colter and I visited this area in the spring of 2023 as part of our Southern Utah trip; my first and only visit so far. The monument area is a bit out of the way, sitting between Blanding, Utah and Halls Crossing (Glen Canyon Recreation Area) off of State Highway 95. It was actually a pretty cool little "park" with excellent hikes, a 13 site FCFS campground, Visitor Center and limited other facilities. It was pretty windy and cold on the rim the day we were there, but very pleasant down in the canyons. If you like the canyon country, this is a must stop.
