I have only been to Bryce Canyon once. My son Colter and I visited the park in September 2023. Our original plan was to climb Wheeler Peak in the Great Basin National Park in Nevada, but the weather was un-cooperative with snow and sub-freezing temps so we opted for Bryce Canyon. We had good luck with the campgrounds in the park. There were plenty of first come first served sites available during the week, but as we got closer to the weekend the sites filled up faster in the afternoons. Like all the parks in the southwest, Bryce definitely has some unique features and hiking opportunities; although like most parks these days you are never alone. If you haven't been to Bryce Canyon before, it is worth the visit. The Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument and Capital Reef National Park are just a stones throw to the East along Highway 12.
