Lakes of the Great Burn
Site under development and will continue to change.

Thompson & Cooper Pass Area

The lakes are accessed from Thompson Pass (Revett, Blossums, Pear and Evans) or Cooper Pass (Pear and Gliddens).

These lakes are generally heavily used due to easy access and are well known in the Spokane and Coeur d'Alene metro areas. Mid-week visits have a better chance for a quality experience, if a little solitude is important to you. The trails are well defined and the longest hike to a lake is just over 5 miles. You can have some off-trail adventures by taking one of the low saddles between the Revett and Blossom drainages, or taking the "Loop" as described on another page. There are no fishless lakes in this area; all are stocked or have a natural population, but as always mountain lakes can be "hit n miss" for fishing. Granite Peak is the dominant peak in this area and has a good trail to the summit or can be climbed via other off trail routes.
