On Tuesday, instead of heading over to Montana for a hike, Skye and I stayed local and went up to Mineral Ridge. This is a BLM Recreation Area over by Beauty Bay on Coeur d'Alene Lake. The main loop is a 3.2 mile hike with the 1st half all uphill at a moderate or easy grade. I also completed the Wilson/Lost Man loop with takes off from the summit house and is about a mile in length, but steeper in sections. The main loop has a number of benches and markers for the interpretive guide. I wouldn't count on the guide at the trailhead but rather download it here: Mineral Ridge Recreation Area, Map & Trailguide. There are a number of nice overlooks on the trails. This is a family friendly hike, but no water is available so plan accordingly.
