West Fork Fish Creek: Kathy, Skye and I took the trailer last Thursday (Sept 17) to the Clearwater Crossing up Fish Creek for 5 days. It was a very nice trip. Kelly (brother) came up Friday morning and the 2 of us hiked up the West Fork past the NEW 3 mile bridge to the Cedar Peak trail intersection and back. The new bridge replaces the 1981 bridge which I understand was built in response to a drowning at the crossing. I first crossed the old bridge in 1982 and many other times over the years.
Schley Mountain: On Saturday, Kathy, Skye and I went up to Schley Mtn. This is one of the easier 7,000+ ft summits in the region, but you pay for with the very rough and rocky road to the saddle and trailhead. This summit has a very spectacular 360 degree view. New this summer on the summit is a piece of artwork that is a directional pointer to a number of mountain tops in the region. I generally don't like people putting things on the summits, but this was pretty cool. I also wandered down trail 104 to get a picture of Surveyor Lake that I didn't have.
