Getting There: Take the Little Joe Road (#282) out of St Regis. Take the left-hand fork on road #221 just after the small Forest Service Campground; there is a sign for Moore Lake.
Follow this road for a good 10 miles until you reach the small parking lot that will hold around 6 vehicles. There is a vault toilet there. On the way, there is a side road that will take you to the Little Joe Slide. This was a substantial land slide many years ago that closed the main road at the time and resulted in a re-route of the road.
At the Lake: It is a short walk (100 yards) to the lake on an ADA access level trail. There is a small beach/platform at the lake. There are heavily used trails on either side of the lake, but there isn’t a trail that completely circles the lake. I find that kind of strange as even some of the most remote lakes along the state line have good trails around them. The fishing is generally poor.
The last time we were there, a couple people had some kayaks out in the lake. As far as scenic beauty, this lake is lacking. There is room to pitch a couple tents near the parking lot and I think a site up above the vault toilet in the trees; I hesitate to call it a campground.
